Quick verdict
The Apollo Neuro is the most experimental product in our catalogue: a wearable that vibrates in patterns the company says calm or energise the nervous system, bundled here with a year of the AI membership that schedules them. Some people find the sensation genuinely settling; the evidence that it does more than that is mostly Apollo's own, and independent replication is limited. It needs charging, an app and, after twelve months, a subscription for the automated features. If a physical cue appeals and you go in with clear eyes, it is an interesting experiment. If you want proven first, start with slow breathing, a fixed wake time and a dark, cool room.

The problem it addresses
Touch calms people — a hand on the shoulder, a rocking chair, a purring cat. Apollo's proposition is that patterned vibration on the skin can act as that kind of cue on demand, without sound, light or a screen, and that an app can learn when to send it.
It exists at the frontier between wellness gadget and evidence-based tool, and this page treats it accordingly: describing what it does, reporting the company's claims as the company's, and saying plainly that the independent evidence is thin.
Design & usability
Rhythmic vibration patterns at chosen intensities. Whether they feel soothing is individual and cannot be predicted from a page; it is the first thing to find out, ideally within a return window.
With the membership, the AI schedules sessions — for example around your usual wake time. Without it, you pick Vibes and schedule them yourself, which Apollo says stays free.
Wrist, ankle or clothing clip. At night the ankle is common; a wrist device can be felt by a partner and can double up with a tracker awkwardly.
Roughly 12 hours at recommended settings per Apollo, and a charge every day or two. It joins the list of things to plug in.
Apollo cites company-funded university studies including a double-blind crossover trial on HRV. Those are real studies with real limits: small samples, short durations, and outcomes that are physiological markers or self-reports rather than sleep measured against a control over months.
Device plus membership after year one. The core Vibes remaining free is the mitigating fact; check Apollo's current terms, because membership structures change.

Practical setup
Run a Vibe at low intensity while reading. If it irritates you awake, it will irritate you in bed.
Out of a partner's way and off the wrist.
Pair the charge with a daily habit or it will be flat when you want it.
Two weeks on, two weeks off, same bedtime. Anything less is impression, not evidence.

The SleepOriginal verdict
Choose the Apollo Neuro as a deliberate experiment: you respond to touch, you want it automated and silent, and you are prepared to charge it, use the app and pay for the AI features after the bundled year. On those terms it is a well-made, interesting device, and Apollo's openness about funding independent studies is to its credit.
Do not choose it as a proven fix. The evidence behind it is mostly the company's, the effects reported are modest physiological markers and self-reports, and cheaper physical cues exist to test first. We report Apollo's numbers as Apollo's and leave the conclusion to you.
Questions
It vibrates in patterns. Apollo calls them Vibes — Sleep, Unwind, Calm, Recover and others — and the claim is that gentle, rhythmic touch signals the nervous system in a way that some people experience as calming or energising. You choose a Vibe and intensity in the app, or with the membership the AI schedules them for you.
Per Apollo's help centre, the eight core Vibes and scheduling are free with the device; the SmartVibes AI membership adds automated, personalised sessions and premium Vibes. This listing bundles twelve months; afterwards the AI features are paid.
Apollo cites a double-blind crossover trial reporting an HRV increase of roughly 11% within minutes, and studies reporting more sleep and less stress. Those are the company's cited findings; independent replication in larger populations is limited. We report the claims as Apollo's and treat the device as experimental.
Wrist, ankle or clipped to clothing, per Apollo. A sleep band accessory for the ankle is sold separately and appears in some bundles. Many users wear it on the ankle at night so the wrist is free.
Apollo's FAQ quotes at least around 12 hours of play time at recommended Vibe and intensity settings, less at higher intensity, and recommends charging for about an hour every day or two.
Both are physical, wordless cues with limited evidence. The blanket is cheaper, needs no charging and is easier to test. The Apollo is automated and worn, and its benefit depends on liking the sensation. If you are unsure, start with the blanket.
